Everything on the tour is "live" and works just like your own ForkliftStore.Com catalog. For purposes of this tour, imagine you're in charge of marketing for a new company - Fantom Forklifts, Inc. You've opted to use the Equipment module, which combines both new and used products, and you've selected the complete category list which features both forklifts and allied material handling equipment. Your webmaster has set up a link from your web site to your ForkliftStore.Com catalog:

| Before we begin the tour, here's some of the features you'll notice about the product catalog. Note that Fantom Forklifts' logo, graphics, and contact information are attractively displayed at the top of each page. In addition, the border on all of the pages matches Fantom's colors. |

Finding your way around the web site is very important. We build your product catalog with an easy-to-use navigation system that helps your visitors quickly find the information they need. You'll also notice the "Home" link. This will return your visitors back to the home page of your web site. During the tour, clicking on "Home" will take you back to this page.

Let's begin your tour at the main Equipment page for Fantom Forklifts. Locate a forklift using the various search functions. To give you a hint, Fantom currently has 4 forklifts in their ForkliftStore.Com catalog... a Caterpillar DP150 located in the "Yard" sub-category, a Daewoo GC25S-2 in the "Warehouse" category, a Clark NPR17 listed under "Ride-On - Narrow Aisle Reach," and a Cat NOR30P listed in the "Ride-On - Order Picker" section.
At the bottom of each product page, below all of the forklift specifications, you'll notice a section entitled "Contact Us." This gives the visitor all of the pertinent information about the location offering that product. ForkliftStore.Com can also automatically forward their request directly to this location. In order to use this automated system, visitors must register with your company. The registration process is quick, easy, and free. The information collected is also used for the Lift Locator feature (see below), and for a future Newsletter module. Plus, it's a great way for you to build an electronic customer list.
Once you've looked at one of the featured forklifts, change the web page to a printable page by clicking on the link at the top of the page, and print out a full color flyer. If the results aren't quite right, you may need to review the recommended print settings for your computer and browser and try again. Imagine what a great tool this feature is for your sales staff.
Now, assume the role of a visitor who wants you to "fill in the blanks" and locate a piece of equipment for them. Try out the Lift Locator section, filling in as much information as you want. This is a great tool for generating leads and building your customer list.

Now, let's take a look at the password protected Database Administration function. This section features an easy-to-use interface for managing your product specs and associated equipment photos. To explore this secure area for the Fantom Forklifts catalog, click on the following URL:

You'll be prompted for a user name and password to access this section. Enter "demo" (without the quotes) for both the user name and password, and click "OK."
You're now in the administration section. The first link you see takes you to a in-depth set of online instructions which will guide you and your staff through the process of uploading and maintaining the equipment in your ForkliftStore.Com catalog.
Of course, the first thing you'll want to do is "Add a New Product" to your site. Click on the button and feel free to actually fill out the form. As part of your ForkliftStore.Com program, you will be provided with padded worksheet forms to fill out before you go online. This makes the data entry process go faster.

Next is the "Modify/Renew/Delete a Product" section. Once your equipment is uploaded, you need to be able to Modify the information if necessary. The Renew function is a management tool designed to help keep your product displays up to date. When you add a product, the database is set to display that product for 90 days. Five days prior to the expiration, you'll automatically receive an E-Mail reminder. If you wish to keep displaying the product, you'll complete this section and the product will be displayed for additional periods of 30 days, again with the 5 day reminder. Finally, the payoff! You've sold the piece of equipment. Just go to the Delete function to remove all the information immediately, or go to the Modify function and select the "Sold Tag" if you want to continue to display the product and generate continued interest from your customers. |
To explore this section in detail, enter any of Fantom's product stock numbers (123, 345, 567, or 789), choose an option from the popup menu, and hit the "Process Request" button.
The last two stops on your tour deal with the digital images of your products. First, you'll see the "Upload Images" function. Here, you'll be able to upload your product photos directly into your ForkliftStore.Com catalog. As noted on the instructions page, you also have the option of transferring your images via FTP. Next is the "Rename/Delete Images" section. If you've already uploaded an image, but the name does not match your stock number, you'll can use this feature to rename the image. And, we've given you the ability to delete an image if required.
